Great Overton Games Despite the Weather

Returning to Overton this year was very different to last Spring when sun cream and lollies were the order of the day. The Under 8's had a really good day out at Overton despite the awful weather.

We draw against Tadley and Fareham Heathens but lost despite valiant effort from all our players when facing Overton, Fordingbridge (last years winners) and Ringwood.

The team played consistently throughout with support and trying to gain ground. Occasionally resulting to crabbing across the pitch when facing the stronger defensive teams, (where some where 6 - 8 inches taller than our tallest players). By the time the tent blew down and the Under 7's had gone home due to the bad weather our guys where still holding their heads up. They were playing as well in the final half of the last match as when the first started fresh at 10 o'clock (even with an hours less sleep).

The team can be rightly proud of their performance which contributed to G&F coming 2nd to Overton in the overall tournament (9.5 points vice 9.75 so really close).
