JOB DONE AT PORTSMOUTH AS COLTS 1st TEAM STAY UNBEATEN

Good news for the Blue team today as the SUN made an unexpected return. In recognition of this many of the crowd sported sunglasses, with the customary woolly hat. The game kicked off and no sooner had the reported munched her way through a Viennese whirl Jimmy had put the first score on the board, with a sneaky try from a fantastic rolling maul 0-5. However it was not long before G&F were defending their line from a very big Portsmouth pack and after a lot of pressure Pompey snuck a try back 5-5. The game really started to take hold and Gos realised they needed to stay focused. The crowd also suspecting a bumpy ride gathered voice and Rhyce duly responded by breaking the line popping up to JQD who went over the whitewash, Dom took the extras 5-12. Now while the reporter was deciding where to stand, because the SUN had by now started to show off with its brightness, something happened and Pompey slotted over a penalty 8 - 12 (half time). Come the second half Gos came out and started to play the way we all know and love. From a not very straight Pompey line out which initially looked like the ref might accidently miss, a bold supporter decided to help out. The ref now turned on the crowd demanding a confession and Mr Lewis (literally) was made to put his hand up, the try fest began. Firstly Tom R after some very quick thinking went over the line and Dom kicked the extras 8-19. Batley Junior with at least 3 hand offs put the ball down for 5 more points 8-24. Kieran appeared like a lighting bolt from the middle of the pitch for try number 5, 8-29. Gos at this point decided to take a little nap and Pompey took a try back 13-29 luckily it was Tom Bale who was the first to wake and touched down for the final try of the day 13-34. A good win in the end, even if Dave had to write on the black board a 100 times I am not the ref. well done lads. Attendance about 50 people and 4 dogs.
