When someone suggests a 7s tournament at Gosport Park, the answer was always going to be yes. The idea of having our home pitches and clubhouse busy in the summer season was appealing but seeing the smiles on faces, the quality of rugby and the beautiful sunshine just topped things off. The opening day of Solent 7s have been nothing short of AMAZING, AWESOME and WORTHWHILE.
However, none of this could happen without a committee, volunteers, players, supporters and staff all buying into what we wanted to achieve - competitive and social rugby at Gosport Park. None of this could have happened without the person who was driving it from the front…Mr Aiden Wilkins!
What he has achieved has been monstrous and he’s already looking forward to tomorrow’s action! He has a superb team around him who have stopped at nothing to make this brainwave a reality!
