Wins for Gold's and the Blue's

Gosport Blues 6 - USP A 4

Gosport started the game strongly and were soon three tries to the good without response, the whole team supported the ball carrier well and there were some excellent off loads in the tackle, notably by Max, Jamie and Fergus. The team tackled well in phases, which was enough to cause USP to relinquish possession on three of their attacks.

Tackles came in consistently from Alec and Tom, both delivering try saving tackles. Once they settled into the game USP were far more decisive in attack and the game took on a more structured flow with the team in attack normally scoring. Gosport did loose possession once due to a turnover, the ref opting to play a 7 tackle count structure. Had the ref played an open structure game, which the Blues have become used to playing, the scoreline may have favoured them even more as George M, Jack and Stanley opened up the USP defence on numerous occasions.

Gosport Gold v BaBa's
4-1
Gosport Gold got off to a good start against a well drilled BaBa side and all on the side watch a good game, highlighting the training drills they were taught early on aswell, tackling and support from the baba's was awesome but not to be outdone the Golds were up to the challenge and also gave their best and the Golds held on to their deserved win.

I cannot go without a mention of Ciaran who crossed the try line but with the referee who added a developemnt to the game where the team had to make 2 passes before scoring a try, (uhmmmm the referee uhmmmm) but to Ciaran credit it did not phase hime as he offloaded and the Golds offloaded again to allow Bailey to take the try for the team.

Gold tries BaBa's

Gosport Golds 4 - USP A 8

A good match for the Golds in preparation for the Winchester EPF Tournament, against quite clearly stronger and more experienced opposition, the team spirit within the Golds was more than evident. Having gone 4 tries down the team rallied well and once their defence got going the chipped their way back at the USP lead.

Some good attacking runs by the Golds were well supported and the ball was off loaded in the tackle resulting in a couple of good team tries. Harry, Kieron, Dylan and Bailey were always ready to test the USP defence with some strong running.

If the Golds can defend as well as they did towards the end of the match, from the first whistle, there won't be many sides to get the better of them this season. Some outstanding tackling by Dylan including one which looked impossible to make. The highlight of the Golds defence was that as requested they tackled in pairs Charlotte, Benny, George H and especially Hans committed themselves to support tackling, Hans seemed especially fearless at the breakdown.

It's looking promising for Winchester, well done the Golds.

Tries:
Harry 1
Kieron 1
Dylan 1
Bailey 1
