On a warm but windy Sunday many parents stood waiting for Podge to arrive with their enthusiastic kids.
Firstly, we warmed up ready for the Round Robin Tournament. Alton was our initial opponent who, at first, proved to be very strong with tackling. They had good defence and were unstoppable when they gained possession of the ball. In the second half we advanced and managed to break through their defence scoring one amazing try from Max. With the very strong breeze it was not the best day for kicking, the wind took the ball and it unfortunately hit the crossbar stunning Josh .We carried on attacking and defending, at the half way line their scrum-half made a very good break through which carried on to concede a try, their kicker also missed the conversion, in the end we tied 5 - 5 .
Secondly, we played the Barbarians who put up a good match as well. Thanks to the Gosport and Fareham boys who volunteered to play for them, they were strong in defence and strong at tackling. Gosport put up a strong defence and that carried on through out the game. Matt scored a very good try which was then converted by Josh which gave us a very good win of 7 - 0.
Lastly, we played the home team which was Petersfield who also had put up with us winning the scrums all the time, they had some good break throughs which were shortly stopped by the inside and out side centres, the constant rucking over and winning of the rucks lead to a try which was passed down the line to Calum who was on the left wing and who got us another try in the tournament. The wind was strong again leading us to miss a second conversion and for the rest of the match we put in some amazing tackles in a bid to stop them getting through the lines of our defence. With the amazing performance of our team we came second over Petersfield who was the home team.
