Although blustery, it was a relief for coaches and players alike to gate some much needed game time in at the Hugin.
The coaches had asked for a display with intensity with the forwards running and supporting in expansive rugby. The team showed these traits from the very off. Aggressive and piercing running from Callum , Noah, Joe G, Archie pounded the Totts defence, leaving space for our pacey runners. Of note, was seeing Henry, back from a lengthy injury lay off, breaking through at pace, and Timmy working the scrum well with fast ball handling. These tactics and performances allowed Jay, Harrison Fry, and Jaff to repeatedly benefit from the forwards work and add to a high scoring game; Jay scoring three tries, Jaff four, and Harrison Four. James Wales and Midget also added excellent tries. Score of the day went to Jay's toe-poked conversion, quite a unique style! Everybody played their part in the win, players such as Finn, for strong running and handling, Travis for his front row baptism and James C for sterling support work ensured the team ethic won out on the day.
A large bacon roll thank you to all the U14 kitchen helpers today also!
