After both teams' warm ups cleared a frosty pitch G&F did their bit for the rugby family by providing Totts with 3 players to enable a 15 v 15 contest to take place.
G&F made their customary strong start and edged out a 12 - 0 lead after 20 minutes with tries from the half backs, Chris and Midget. The team continue to learn how to look after their lead the hard way after allowing Totts to score with their first visit to the G&F 22. Totts added a second try before half time to provide a scoreline that did not reflect the territory and possession enjoyed by G&F.
The boys regrouped at half time and refined their game plan which resulted in a dominant second half display; strong tackling was witnessed throughout the 15 and the organisation of forwards/backs attacks continues to develop as the boys further understand the play book. Chris scored his second try before the screw was turned in the last 10 minutes resulting in tries for Midget and Harrison Fry.
A big thank you to Gareth, Grimmy and Ben for representing Totts today; you all played well and represented Gosport Rugby Club with your sportsmanship.
Well done to the try scorers Chris(2), Midget(2) and Harrison; as ever, the points on the board were the result of a strong team effort. The pack were a strong unit today; Joe Totts played his first full game of the season at 2nd Row and performed well - keep up the good work with FOCUS in TRAINING. Well played Rosie for covering in the centres from your preferred flanker position, Harrison for covering on the wing (looking good for a position switch!) and Henry for covering backs and forwards positions during the game!
A great team performance where the whole squad performed well, including subs and loaned players; you should all be proud and ready to take the momentum gained at the end of this year into 2015.
All the best for the future boys!
Steve
