Once more aboard the happy bus as we headed South Westish towards New Milton.

Once more aboard the happy bus as we headed South Westish towards New Milton and not Milton Keynes as promised by a slightly confused manager earlier in the week. Any way half way there the transport manager confessed he could not quite remember the way, Jimmy quickly took control and with his trusty mobile phone he guided in us into a.... residential area. Anyway after a bit more guess work we finally arrived if a little late.
New Milton started strong which caught us off guard but we maintained a strong defence and somehow managed to gain a penalty which Dom slotted over for the first points of the day 0 - 3. Within minutes New Milton were back in the game with a penalty of their own 3 - 3. Most of the first half it did appear we were doing a awful lot of defending and probably against the run of play Kieran managed to break free for the first try of the day 3- 8 and with Dom's conversion we went into haribo time 3 - 10 up. The second half started thankfully not in the same vein as the first, and just like last week at Portsmouth a mini try fest began. From the back of a ruck Batley Junior drove over the line 3 - 15 the extras by Dom 3 - 17. Next Batley junior explained in his own words how he "shrugged them all off" to go over the line for his second try 3 - 22 and the kick from Dom made it 3 - 24. Unfortunately New Milton were allowed one back 8 - 24. The last try of the day came from the now famous trade mark move of Rimmer and Batley which saw Batley take his third try of the day 8 - 29. Dom who had kicked superbly all day made it 5 from 5 with the final score of 8 - 31. Other notes from the day would it be possible to start the first half like we do the second half's which will calm the nerves of the manager and supporters. Also a very big happy Birthday to Mr Landon who turned 18 happy birthday David. Attendance a scattering of home support with dogs and 27 away supporters and 3 dogs. It would have been 28 away supporters had Mrs Firth (George's mum) not been enjoying scones and cream with her friend up the road.
