Mixed emotions over selections for SoR academy.

Attending the Hampshire & London Irish academy trials is hardly the best way to work off the turkey & mince pies, but that's how 12 of our under 13s squad started their New Year at the university of Southampton sports facility in Eastleigh on 3rd January.

Most of our players were selected in the same group which effectively meant they were trying out against each other for limited places which wasn't ideal for our chances of success.

Congratulations go to:
Matthew John & Dids Symington for being re-selected at the HMS Temeraire academy sessions.
Connor Parkinson & Jake Moseley for being re-selected at the Perrins academy.
& to Jake Ellard for successfully winning a slot in the HMS Temeraire academy.

Unfortunately, despite taking talented players forward to the trials, several were unsuccessful. None of the players who were not selected did anything to let themselves down - the environment was different to the September trials so the chance to shine wasn't as prominent. There will be other opportunities for all & your coaching team will support you in achieving whatever your goals are if we possibly can.
