All the weekend action from GFRFC

2XV - After a tough loss last week the Vikings bounced back to winning ways with a 34-14 win away at Hook. This keeps the Vikings top of the table going into the Christmas break. Special mention to Aiden Wilkins for making a great come back off the bench!

Colts - The fourth league outing for the Colts ended in a narrow home defeat to a Petersfield team determined to play to the boggy conditions. The teams were evenly matched: Gosport dominating lineout and breakdown; Petersfield the scrum and defence. We look forward to returning to winning ways next weekend.

U15s - U15s beat Basingstoke in their league game 19 -7 in some very difficult conditions. Some excellent defence from Gosport holding Basingstoke out several times.

U14s - In driving, cold and unrelenting winter rain, the Sharks recorded their highest ever home victory. Fareham conceded points from the kick off and never managed to get a foothold in the game. There were missed chances and Heathens put up a good fight in the scrum but this was a day for tries and the success was shared throughout the team. Man of the Match (on debut) Andrew P.

U13s - Under 13s enjoyed a trip away to Farnham. They looked very confident as a team on the pitch. All played very well and earnt a 45-0 win.

U11s - A wet and wild 45 minutes of training for the dragons. Well done to those who braved the weather. Dragon of the week: Jevan!

U10s - Our last training session of the year for the U10s today, and boy did it rain! Lots of soggy children and parents today… Thank you all for your continued commitment, without you our team wouldn’t be possible.

U9s - We had a great training session, the team showed brilliant examples of TREDS with their teamwork. Well done to Nancy who is our Saxon of the week! She has shown continuous determination and ever growing confidence each Sunday.

U8s - This week the Raptors enjoyed a busy session at home, demonstrating great resilience, support and great ball skills in the rain. There was excellent sportsmanship from all today. From all the coaches, a huge well done Team Raptors as we head into the last week of a busy term into the festive season.

U7s - Great attitude and effort from all the Jaguars despite the change in weather halfway through the session. The coaches witnessed some excellent teamwork on display in the mini games towards the end of the session. We had some perfect tries and tagging. We’ll keep working on our passing and getting back onside after the tag. We look forward to our last session before Christmas next Sunday where we will be encouraging parents and players to take in a fun session!

Our 1XV are at home to Eastleigh this weekend for their final match before the Christmas break. Come down to the club and support them if you can!
