All the weekend action from GFRFC

Ladies - Yesterday marked the 3rd round of the tournament, with the ladies taking a trip through the New Forest to visit the lovely ladies at New Milton… The team of 11 played well despite the muddy ground and hefty winds. The Ladies faced strong teams but kept their heads high the entire time. They were able to show off their skills and drills, as well as their electric knee slides over the try lines.

1XV - Great support in the clubhouse and on the side of the pitch, the 1XV got back to winning ways in blustery conditions at Gosport Park. Dominant in every aspect of the game, with just a lack of composure in the final 3rd. "A win is a win we will take it" with a week off next week before a big away day at Bognor on the 2nd December. Need to focus on getting our first away win of the season. Final score: Gosport & Fareham 22 - New Milton 7

2XV - Vikings headed up the road to play Petersfield 2XV in a friendly with a large squad. The winning run came to an end with a narrow loss, great team play towards the end of the game. Final score: Petersfield 24 - Gosport & Fareham 19

Colts - The Colts played a "friendly" fixture away at Tottonians in challenging conditions, on a very boggy pitch. The boys dominated in most areas and used the wind to their advantage, coming out winners. Final score: Tottonians 3 - Gosport & Fareham 14

U16s - U16s League match against Ellingham & Ringwood ended in a win for Gosport, the Eagles had a fantastic game with great team work. Final score: Gosport & Fareham 26 - Ellingham & Ringwood 12

U14s - This was the longest continuous game the boys have played and it also yielded their highest ever score in competitive rugby. Gosport’s squad of 19 took on a squad of almost 30 and earned a hugely impressive victory. Tries were run in from lots of different angles with varying degrees of celebration. The standard of passing was superb and generally Gosport dominated the scrum. Final score: Eastleigh 20 - Gosport & Fareham 59

U13s - A friendly against Chichester yesterday; it was a lost for Gosport.

U12s Girls - Today the Hornets joined up with Petersfield for a PUAP hosted by Winchester. The girls really enjoyed themselves and overall played 4 games in total.

U10s - A phenomenal Sunday morning spent at Havant! The U10s attended a small round robin event with Havant, Portsmouth, and Trojans. The children absolutely flourished competitively competing against these local teams, a joy to watch! Quote of the day “when can we do that again? I LOVED every moment!” JK U10s

U9s - A very windy training session today! Saxons welcomed Tottonians for a joint training session which was enjoyed by all. Topped off with a hot dog up at the club! Saxon of the week was Freddie! Well done

U8s - We welcomed Tottonians U8s this week to our training session, building great relationships with other clubs. Both Raptors and our visitors showed great TREDS, with lots of team games played building core skills and having heaps of fun.

Our next league lunch is taking place on Saturday 9th December when our 1XV take on Portsmouth. Please contact Vicky at gfrfc.bar@gmail.com or call 07956 438731 to book your place.
