1st XV host Old Emanuel - 2nd XV away to Heathens

A must win game for Gosport & Fareham. Following our first away victory and the added benefit of the bonus point, to ensure league stability we need to get a further bonus point win over Old Emanuel to have any chance. This also means we are relying on Twickenham RFC to beat London Exiles and restricted them to no more than 1 bonus point.

Due to the ongoing defect down at Gosport Park, training has remained at a local ground, these facilities have allowed us to ensure the teams prepare to the best of their abilities and not have an impact on our aims for the last two fixtures of the season. The pitch makes things more game related as it is larger than the dell and allows us to train the way we want to play.

The 1s will welcome some of the more regular plays back into the squad, but there are a number of players from last week’s successful outing who have retained their place within the squad. However we are missing some of the more senior players due to injury and non-availability, these include Sean Shepherd and Dean McNaught through injury, both Kieran’s McRoberts and Darrington plus Dan Turner are not available due to previous commitments. Following the blow to his jaw last week, Dean has fractured his jaw and we wish him a speedy recovery. This has not detracted from our preparations as this is now an every fixture occurrence and we have trained as a collective all season.

The 2s travel to another local rival for their last fixture of the season. They travel to Fareham Heathens, they go there in high spirts following a positive result against Portsmouth 2s last week. They are looking to finish the season on a high and have back to back victories. Again they will have a number of returning faces into their squad which will bolster their numbers and potential to achieve the victory they seek.

With the 1s playing at Gosport Park, we welcome all to come along and show your support in our last fixture of the 2018/19 season and act as the 16th man and give us the energy to achieve our goals.
