Colonel Bill Stevens OBE - Funeral Update

Please note the below update regarding Bill's funeral.

Bill Steven's funeral is to be a private family service.

A Thanksgiving Service has been arranged to take place at St John the Baptist Church, Shedfield, Hampshire SO32 2HY on Tuesday 10 March at 2 p.m. which is open to all who wish to attend.

Attendees are asked to wear bright colours and red socks.

Gosport & Fareham RFC regret to announce the death of Colonel Bill Stevens OBE. Bill was one of our oldest members, having first played for the Club in the 1950s.

Bill went on to play for US Portsmouth, Hampshire and Blackheath in the 1960s. He was a long-time Vice President of Gosport & Fareham RFC and regularly

attended our annual Past Captains’ Lunch as well as some matches.

Bill was originally commissioned into the Royal Hampshire Regiment and after retiring from the Army went on to serve in the TAVR for which he was awarded an OBE.
