Despite forward dominance by Ravens the visitors kept playing.

The rain held off and a great afternoons rugby was had by all at Gosport Park as the Ravens (U16) took on New Milton RFC in the third round of the JTL Fire Hampshire RFU U16 League Division 1 competition. After sizing each other up Ravens began to dominate up front and soon Kini Nawai at Outside Centre broke free to score the first try. The forwards secured ball that was well distributed and they then set about scoring just about every 6 minutes in the half after that with tries by Gregor House (Wing), Tom Archer (Full Back), Harry Rabjohn (Fly Half) and Tom Ellis (Inside Centre); however, Tom left the field injured with what turned out to be a fractured ankle. New Milton never gave up and closed the half with a score of their own in the last seconds of the half. Harry Rabjohn converted four from five. Euan Archbold (Lock) and Samuel Rushent (Prop) appeared to be relishing their county selection with great interplay between them. Half Time: 33-5 to Ravens
It didn't take long for Ravens to open the scoring again with a well worked line out drive and break off that saw Euan crashing over. Kini followed up ten minutes later with his second. New Milton still didn't give up and with substitutions made Ravens lost their shape a little and allowed New Milton a well deserved second try by the fly half and man of the match George Jones. Ravens drove hard to get back into scoring routine and worked their way to the line but dropped the ball in scoring; the No. 8 will remain nameless! Connor Cox continued to show his improving game with a high yardage of carries today, and he even made a pass! His efforts were recognised by the opposition as he received the post match man of the match award. It took a while but Ravens responded and Harry Rabjohn ran in his second from 60m in what looked like the final score of the game. However, New Milton thought differently and with repeated penalties conceded by Ravens finally scrambled over on the final whistle. Harry converted two from three taking the final score to 52 - 15 to Ravens.
