It took three minutes for the Ravens to clock up their first try of the 2018/19 season. After several well executed phases and drives up field number 8 Ed Bell touched down for the first try which Aidan Jarvis converted. More followed as Bognor despite resolute defence were unable to stop Ravens stringing together phases that lead to tries by George Smith, Aidan Jarvis, Harry Rabjohn and Tyler Jolly. In the Gosport breeze no further conversions were added and the first session ended 34-0 to Ravens.
Ravens made several changes and in the second session Bognor were far more organised and competitive with excellent handling skills on display and better discipline. Ravens were reduced to 14 men when Ben Gray was yellow carded. Harry Rabjohn scored his second try of the game which was converted by Connor Cox, but Bognor came back strong, dominating the line outs, and scored twice, converting one. The last word to the session was Ravens with Kini Nawai scoring under the posts and Harry Rabjohn added the conversion. 14-12 in session to Ravens - 48-12.
The third session was another close contest, Ravens made several more changes and had to work hard in defence lead by Joe Wilkinson's strong tackling. They scored first through Tom Archer but Bognor responded with a try of their own. George Smith then scored after supporting a great kick chase by Tom who was having a dominant third session and Aidan Jarvis converted. Bognor battled hard for the last score and were rewarded with a try under the posts that they converted. 14-12 in session to Ravens - 62-24.
