we made some very basic mistakes, lots of dropped balls, into touch and random passing without spreading out and using the pitch and ball. I think a little tired and the excitement of finishing school for a couple of weeks may have taken the edge of us. We did however demonstrate some strong tackling, good runs and although not allowed at this age (I think) some very good driving.
We were welcomed by Andover who also had a visiting team Syston from Leicestershire.
The usual warm up and then we had 3 matches.
14 players turned up so we split into 2 teams.
Match 1 against Syston we drew 5:5 it was a tough game. Tries went to Henry 2, Gregor 2 and Luke 1
Match 2 against Syston we lost 10:2. Tries went to Huw
Match 3 against Andover (who were out for revenge from being hammered by us previously) we lost 6:1 - try went to Luke.
Syston's 2 teams were very strong, they play "normal" rugby as they outside of County and not under the pilot rules. I have to say it showed whilst they played the pilot rules during the matches, they demonstrated good strenght and fitness.
A break this sunday and Fareham Heathens on 15th April.
