So Portsmouth Junior U13's - the Stingers visited Gosport Park and against the Ravens stormed to a 35 - 0 lead at half time with a try every 3 minutes as the Ravens players rested last week struggled to keep them out.
After half time Ravens strengthened their side and the game turned around. The Ravens backs strung passes together a Tom Ellis opened their account. The fresh forwards began to dominate the rucks and denied Stingers possession. Harry Rabjohn added a try and Tom Ellis added his second. It looked like they were going to turn the game around and they eased off the pedal and Stingers stung with a try to make the job harder; 15 minutes left and 6 tries needed.
The back line switched on again and Harry Rabjohn scored his second. Then the tries started coming every 2 minutes with Ethan Hammond, George Smith, Harry Rabjohn and Finley Daly scoring. 4 minutes left 40-40 and Harry Rabjohn scored his 4th of the day to give Ravens the lead for the first time. Stingers didn't give up and were determined to grab it back. Last advantage of the game they tried everything to get an attack going but were tackled into touch. Final score 45-40. Shame a side had to win because a draw would have been a fair result. The Stingers 16 players should be proud of having played the whole game against the much bigger Ravens squad.
