Andover were the deserved winners on the day and played with much more cohesion than the Ravens.
A mountain was built for Ravens to climb when Andover scored 2 quick tries. Both tries came from surprising developments in the game and going 2 tries down in this manner deflated the impacted team and it took a lot away from the game. Both sides continued to play good competitive rugby but Andover dominated and built on their early lead. Ravens did well to battle to the end and get a consolation try eventually.
We all appreciate the contribution referees make to our game and the difficulties in developing referees. The Club Referees programmes are a great way forward to develop referees for the future.
Our game needs more Referees, if you are interested please speak to the Club Referee Development Officer or visit http://www.hantsrefs.org.uk/
Good luck Andover in the Plate Final ... we await to see who Ravens play next for the 7th place play off.
