Another Sunday of great rugby for G&F Mini Youth Section as the weather was kind with autumn sunshine and cool breezes. The Mini’s trained at home in preparation for the Alton EPF Festival and Trojans Tournaments next week.
The U16’s Berserkers went away to Petersfield where they recorded another win 47-7. Some great phases of play linking up with backs and forwards saw them dominate and there scores were capitalised by great conversion kicking from Sam Gee.
U15’s hosted Petersfield and registered another victory 31-24. Tries by Ben S(2), Ollie, Harvey and Joe, with Harvey adding 3 conversions. The pack held their own against a much larger Petersfield pack, our shorter front row causing problems for the opposition. Some excellent passing from the whole team and it was good to see the backs looking for and exploiting the gaps in the Petersfield defence. G&F lead at half time 12-10 and then began to dominate in the second half but Petersfield stayed in contention.
U14’s Ravens went to Ventnor to be hosted by Vectis RFC and dominated the game to win 57-14. Aaron was nominated Man of the Match by the opposition after an excellent game on the wing. Aaron, Ben, Euan(2), Owen (2), Ethan and William touched down with 6 of 9 converted by Harry(R). Pressure from forward play also saw them awarded penalty try. Notable first start for Christian with strong play by the back row of Ed and Joe.
U13’s Saxons also went to Ventnor where they trained with a depleted Vectis squad and dominated the end of session match play.
