On a beautiful day for a large spectating crowd at the picturesque Tadley Tigers club, G & F bravely fought a tough final against a very good Tadley team. Nerves seemed to have got the best of the team in the first half, Tadley, quickly amassing 24 points without response in the first half. The score didn't tell the whole story as G & F tackled ferociously, and only some uncharacteristically sloppy ball handling held the team back.
The half time break gave the coaches time to re-set the team who came out and gave a much improved second half performance. Notable, was huge driving runs from Henry and Finn, and stunning tackles from Chris. The scrum also started to work well pushing a heavy, Tadley pack back, which led to a fantastic pick up by Noah who scored a great try under the posts.
Later in the second half , once again fierce driving and rucking from Gosport allowed Timmy to tidy the ball up and score again, with a lovely conversion from Gareth.
Although a disappointing defeat, playing teams of this quality, and learning from the experience has got to bode well for the future of the team. The coaches and parents alike were proud of the manner of the second half comeback, which was also appreciated by the Tadley followers, who were very complimentary of the lads on the day.
