East Sussex touring side Heathfield & Waldron inflicted a heavy defeat on Gosport & Fareham who were missing half their squad due to injuries and the Lytchett Minster Festival of Sevens tournament. Nevertheless, Gos competed with tenacity and perseverance and they deserved more than the scoreline suggests.
Gos forward Ali Bowes had an excellent game in the front row - encouraging and leading the pack. Max Burditt had a fine debut game in the second row and Owen Brown gave another top performance in midfield. But it was Sam Goodsell who gave the Man of the Match performance - tackling and spoiling in all areas of the park - helping to inspire his colleagues in a very difficult match.
