New Milton made an impressive start to the game; they were much the stronger side and passed the ball well. Gos could not retain any possession and struggled to keep the visitors from their line - and in the later stages of the half New Milton struck three times in quick succession to reflect their superiority in all departments.
After the break the home side began to play to their recent form – the forwards inspired by Harry Haggard began to win the scrums and the rucks, and the backs led by Tom Rimmer finally had some ball to run with. And then Gos started to run in the tries. Craig Taylor led the way with the first and then Tom Batley with a storming run scored the second. Lewis Evans followed up with the third and Sam Yeardley capped a good individual display with the fourth.
New Milton scored a late try but it wasn’t enough as Gos ran out 26-22 winners.
