1st & 2nd XV face an away day

The players have spent this week preparing for the pending fixture against Old Cranleighan's at their ground. Confidence is high within the camp as we defeated them at home in October with a 5 point victory and we have developed as a whole since then. The players believe this is a fixture which they can win, this will be a big boost to survival within the league but more importantly achieve one of the goals we set at the beginning of the season. During pre-season we set some targets which we wanted to achieve during the forthcoming season, one was to achieve an away win as this eluded the players the previous season.

Training has been developing the system and process which was agreed at the last team meeting. They have worked hard and under prolonged periods to ensure it becomes second nature and they can implement the system whilst fatigued. Unfortunately we are not able to field the same squad as last weekend due to non-availability and injuries, so some gentle tweaks will be required. However those people who will be selected to step up and represent the 1s will add their personal qualities to the squad.

Our primary focus is to win the game and then the secondary task is to achieve a try bonus point.

The 2s have a trip to the New Forrest to play New Milton & District who currently sit mid-table. The players know they are playing a wounded animal as they lost their last fixture by a single point. Building from last weeks performance, for which it was their first competitive game implementing the new structure and process, the team are keen to show how they have developed the system and as players since last week.
